" You
should never need another vitamin pill or diet supplement. If
you now take pills or supplements, you could save more than
enough money to pay for this program many times over!"
Hello, Friend. Let me guess your
story:
- You weigh more than you want to. Or
your child or your spouse or a dear friend is overweight.
- You worry about diabetes and other
health problems with your weight.
- You try other diets, but they never work very long,
if at all. Or they're boring. Or even worse, you
need the math skills of an engineer.
- Perhaps you feel that some diet
plans exist just to sell their special food and drinks.
- And maybe you spend a small fortune
for vitamin pills and diet supplements to make up for what
is not in your food.
Sound familiar?
Now let me tell you my story. My name is Dana Mather. I
once was a middle-aged Army officer in excellent physical condition. I
exercised all the time and easily kept up with soldiers half
my age. I listened to the diet experts and usually I
ate the healthiest diet I could – low fat, whole grains,
very few snacks or sodas – you get the idea.
I should have been in pretty good shape. But my shape
had a spare tire around the middle! My doctor saw it
right through my bulky field uniform. Before I even
got on the scale he said that I could stand to lose a few pounds. How
could that have happened? It couldn't have been lack
of exercise!
So it must have been my diet. I admit that I enjoyed
desserts, and the occasional donut. (Still do.) But
they couldn't take all the blame. If I did almost everything "right" and
still gained weight, then something was wrong. And if
it was wrong for a guy like me who exercised a lot, it must
be really wrong for many other people.
You see, all sorts of "Experts" have been telling
us for years what we should eat to lose weight. We try
to follow the advice of the doctors, the nutritionists, the
scientists, but still we put on the pounds. It happened
to me. It's happened to you. Look around. It's
happened to almost everyone. Maybe the experts are wrong!
I ate all the "right" things, but many of them
were really wrong! When I finally figured it out, I started
eating "Real Food." I never went hungry, and
lost 25 pounds in less than four months. In fact, I got
too skinny! I had to put a few pounds back on!
People have asked me how I did it. I'd love to show
you. There is no reason my methods couldn't work for
you too. I cannot promise that you will lose 25 pounds
in four months. (Who knows, maybe you will do even better!) We're
all different so we will all see different results.
But I can promise:
- You will eat healthy and well.
- You will not have to starve yourself. In
fact, you will be encouraged to eat.
- You will reduce your risk of diabetes
and other diseases that come from being overweight.
- You should never need another vitamin pill or diet supplement. If
you now take pills or supplements, you could save more than
enough money to pay for this program many times over!
- You will not need to buy special foods that are sold
only in certain stores. Everything in the Real Food
Diet is already sold in regular supermarkets.
This is no fad. The Real Food Diet is timeless and can
never go out of style. You will never have to worry about
someone proving that your diet is bad for you. Ever!
The Real Food Diet can work just for you or for your whole
family, from pre-schoolers to grandparents.
The Real Food Diet is good for you even
if you don't follow it perfectly. The better you stick with it, the better
your results. But you're not a failure if you choose
to change it now and then. Once you understand the basic
idea behind the diet you can adjust it if you want. I
did. (Remember, I got too skinny! I had to gain
a few pounds.) So, you'll never feel trapped in an all-or-nothing
diet plan.
(Personal confession: I'm guilty! Even though ice cream
is not Real Food, I'm going to eat it anyway. I'll tell
you how you too can enjoy a guilty pleasure now and then.)
A few key points:
- The Real Food Diet is not low fat or high fat. Instead,
it is good fat.
- The Real Food Diet is not low carb or high carb. Nor is it fruitarian, raw food, macrobiotic, or any other extreme diet.
- The Real Food Diet is not high protein. But
it is not vegetarian either. Animal protein is Real Food. Most
other protein sources are not. If you are vegan and still
overweight, you may need to rethink your position.
- The Real Food Diet is not about exercise. Exercise
is good for you and will help you lose weight faster. I
encourage it. But if you can not or will not exercise,
that's okay. The Real Food Diet is good for your health
with or without exercise.
Still not sure? Consider this weight control nightmare. Recently
I spent 25 days on a business trip. I worked long hours
every single day, including weekends, nearly all of it sitting
down. I had no time for exercise, and I ate three times
a day, every day, at regular restaurants. I should have
really put on the pounds, right? Wrong! All I
did was eat Real Food. I never went hungry. I enjoyed
some desserts, stayed healthy, and get this – I didn't
